Excellent original, un-restored World Varsity mens lightweight bicycle. Equipped with Sturmey Archer 3-speed hub. Still equipped with it’s original mattress type saddle and original Schwinn script brake levers. Very often when these bikes find their way into the hands of Schwinn collectors, the brake levers are replaced with generic equivalents. The reason: The levers are the same ones used on the balloon tire models that were equipped with the Schwinn Forewheel expander, or “drum” brake. They are hard to find, so it’s really cool to see that they are still in place on this bike. Notice the locking fork and the Schwinn script aluminum caliper brakes.
