The Elgin Twin-Bar series was one of the most successful series sold by Sears. Not to be confused with the “Twinbar”, one word which was the earlier bicycles sold between 1933 and 1936. The different Twin-Bar models were given numbers.. 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60. There were even some model numbers in-between. Generally, the higher the number the more deluxe features the bicycle had. Twin-Bar bicycles were manufactured by two different companies, Westfield Manufacturing and Murray Ohio, exclusively for Sears.
