Continue readingAs we entered the 60’s we also entered the “Space Age” and so too did the styling of our bicycles. Continue readingThis 1958 J.C. Higgins Flightliner is a stunning example of how stylish these bikes really are. Look at those lines! From the rear fender brace that flows into the chain guard, to the tank with built in hooded headlight that mimics the look of the fender on a ’58 Chevrolet, this bike is ALL style. This example is one I’ve only owned about 12+ years. It has partial “repaint” on frame, complete repaint on light, carrier, and c-guard, straight solid tank has been redone, and paint to…
Continue readingThis late 1940’s Sears J.C. Higgins ladies bicycle looks a lot like the pre-war models with its skirt guard and paint details. Even the badge has a similar design to the pre-war Elgin. Made by Murray, it is similar to Murray’s own Mercury brand….
Continue readingRare J.C. Higgin Europeon outsourced bicycle, not the typical Murray built models of the period. This bicycle is all original down to the tires made in Holland. Of note is the acrylic fenderlight and meat tenderizer (okay I made that up but if there is a chesegrater, let’s stay with the culinary theme). Entry Submitted by Chris Holmes…
