1937 Silver King Wingbar

This is a very original 1937 Monark Silver King, model L137. Nicnkamed the “Wingbar” because of the stylized shape of it’s frame. The frame, fork, carrier and other parts on this bike are made of aluminum. The fenders and headlight are painted a contrasting metalic blue. Notice that the headlight also contains a horn with vents in the shell. The spring loaded “Butterfly” kickstand was a short lived feature on Monark bicycles. The Troxel toolbox saddle is in amazing original condition and even still has its rasberry jewel reflector. This bicycle also features locking fork with the lock built right into the frame, tail light, speedometer, horn button on the handelbars and hex shaped truss rods. This a very outstanding un-restored bicycle. This is why it has been chosen as the April 2002 bicycle of the month!
